The Pierce County Search and Rescue Council is an association of certified search and rescue units within Pierce County, formed to promote the exchange of information between persons who are knowledgeble in search and rescue. To promote cooperation with any other organizations or agencies, and to promote the continuing education of the public in wilderness and urban survival techniques.
The council supports preventive SAR programs such as the "HUG-A-TREE" program throughout Pierce County
